Do you believe that our lives are prewritten? That He has decided where we’ll end up and all we are supposed to do is play our part without knowing whats gonna happen at all?
Or are you one of those who believes that we write our own stories…that We choose the destination?
Or….are you the kind that believes that the apple is meant to fall from the tree anyways, but you wanna climb up there and break it…not wait for it to fall! If our lives are meant to ‘be’, they might ..one way or another but wouldn’t you like to explore the different ways you could get there? I know I’d like to!
Let’s say….like Tom Cruise who was dyslexic as a child, fame drove him. And he was meant to be famous, but he didn’t get there as an athlete or a preacher (yea, he tried his hand at both) he got there as an actor! Somewhere deep within, I believe he knew what he wanted, he just didn’t know how he was gonna get it, well eventually, he found a way. I believe all of us go through this at some point in our lives. Like I feel, very strongly, that my life is meant to bring about a change..to make a difference but I didn’t know 17 years ago that I would continue being a voice artist and become a radio show host someday! And I had absolutely no clue even 5 years ago that I would become a life coach or a counsellor…something that is totally unrelated to my college education and my career in voicing since the age of 6 😛 As it is, I have never been a ‘planner’ I like to flow. and I’ve always felt that the only way to know if it’s meant to be is to give it a shot.
So today, as I sit here…smiling..still not knowing where I will be ten years hence, I invite you to taste everything He dishes out for you… like I do! To try all the flavors (31 and more!) and then… choose. And …this is my favorite part- to mix and match and use every gift He’s given me to create my life’s best sundae 😀
Coz I believe, what the heck, if it’s meant to happen the sundae or the shake “way”… I’d rather that it happen my way 😉
Rains, hmmm.
I love the rains but I have too many conditions, like, I enjoy them only when I am out of town, or not headed to work, or if they are not too heavy so the sky isn’t dull and grey,blah,blah, blah. So generally around June, when it’s a time for the rains to begin I start to prepare my mind for the ‘gloom’ over my days and ‘muck’ over my shoes! Yes, I have a thing for sunshine and shoes 😉
So you can imagine how my soul beams on days like today when the rain is just a drizzle which means the sun is shining and so it is time to smile! 😀 And then it dawns on me, there is a reason why god made this big round yellow thing in the sky- it’s so, for some time, everyday, you can’t hide from anything…from yourself. To help us see everything clearly, in ‘bright light’ if you will! We do get some time to contemplate, rework our plans, mull over things we want to get over in the darkness of the night and that too everyday. But then we get something brilliant (literally too) a brand new opportunity, everyday, to start afresh to get going, even to make new mistakes 😛 but khul-e-aam (out in the open!)
So when the morning comes, remember the sun is smiling…so it’s time to shine 😉
